Breast Cancer Symptoms - First Five Warning Signs
When breast cancer is no longer the death penalty, it used to. The medical profession has made some tremendous progress in breast cancer detection and treatment options. But the key to it with the best chance for survival is early detection. Therefore, every woman owes it to itself and the need to educate themselves on the five most common signs of breast cancer.
The most common signs of breast cancer feel a lump in the breast or a thickening of the breast. Breast lumps can often only fat and no cancer, but it is the first sign that usually sends people to go see their doctor for a thorough investigation. The five signs of breast cancer are:
* Any changes to the shape, size or contour of your chest
* Flattening of the chest or depressions in the skin around your chest
* Clear or bloody nipple discharge from the nipple, with or without the presence of a lump
* Indentation or reduction of your nipple
* Hole in the breast skin or redness of the skin over the breast
Women know that their breasts feel tender or swollen at various times during their monthly cycle. Some women experienced chest pain and tenderness, when they are menstruating and others have bid breasts when ovulating. Pregnant women often experience breast tissue, so there are causes other than cancer that a woman can be a swelling or tenderness in her breast.
All of the above can be a warning sign of breast cancer, but it is quite possible that you could be suffering from something else. There is no reason to panic at the first sign of any of these symptoms. Make an agreement with your gynecologist immediately if you have these symptoms, because your doctor would be the best person to make an informed diagnosis, and send for additional testing if necessary.
